Dog Foutain

Today as a desk clerk I think I could have done more and didnt. But what would you do in this sittuation? make them feel ashamed? Point his mistake out in from of others? Or just let it happen? All of this was going through my mind, and I decided to just let it happen. Am I happy with my choice? Not so much, but still it makes for a giggle after the fact. :)

In the lobby at the hotel I work at we have drinking fountain and then we have a dog fountain. The human fountain is pretty clear it's for humans and the dog fountain says BIG DOG WATER FOUNTAIN on it and it's pretty clear its for dogs. Today I looked up from my desk to see an Asian man filling up his water bottles from the DOG drinking fountain. It is about 9am and the lobby is packed with other guest. I say "um sir, sir, that's not for drinking" and he doesn't look up, I realize he speaks no English and has no idea I am trying to get his attention. My coworker looks up and we give each other that look of what do we do. We decided to let it go and not call him out on it.

After the guest left with his dog filtered water in hand my coworker turns to me, smiles, and says "at least we cleaned the fountain out the other day".
